Together with Dynamics Research Corporation's expertise in building client server Child Care and Welfare systems and iCentrix's ICE framework, iCentrix built a prototype Child Case Information System (CCIS) in 4 weeks, demonstrating flexibility and versatility of the ICE framework.
The CCIS prototype was successfully demonstrated at the APHSA-ISM 2001 show in Orlando, Florida.
"We like it because this approach is new and different" commented show attendees. Most notably iCentrix visualization through the use of wireframes received a great response from technical and business managers a like.
"You simply cannot under estimate the importance of a proper specification. But unfortunately in todays world most companies write 200 page visualization documents that really do not convey requirements clearly, until system development begins and by that time isn't usually too late to make big changes"
About the CCIS ptototype
Though built extremely fast, this prototype is a fully functioning system that can serve as the basis for final system development. The heart of the prototype is a claims processing engine that manages provider service and billing records. Each provider is able to register themselves, set up their facilities, staff, services and submit claims for authorized services.
State licensing agents log in to update inspection and licensing information. While Caseworkers log in to authorize services for individual children.
The prototype system covers 5 functional security roles in the Child Care Administration arena
- Public access that allows information presentation, provider search and registration
- Provider access for provider management and claims processing
- State licensing agent for inspection and licensing updates
- Caseworkers to create and manage cases
- Central administration for system operator
