Non-Technical Administration

Management of the new application is made simple by the use of a browser-based administration system. This tool allows administrators to gain access to all information stored in the application, as well modify, delete or add it. Administrators do not need to be familiar with any of the technical aspects of the application. They just need to have knowledge of the application user interface.

The administration system provides for creating and managing user accounts, and for establishing roles and role-based access privileges. It allows select and sort options to be extended or changed. Relationships pertaining to summary roll-up calculations such as service types or product types can be extended. Parameters affecting the operation of business rules can be controlled. Administration users can create new data, modify existing, add new elements to forms or pulldowns and add or take away screens.

All of these features are supported and made simply by the ICE™ framework, where through the use of ICE™ components and meta data stored in a central database, administrators are completely removed from any of the technical aspects of the application.

ICE™ solutions are 100% custom. This means that even application administration is tailored specifically to user requirements and data model. So by the time a system administrator needs to add new information, the management interface already "speaks their language", making administration that much easier.

Evolutionary Development Process

Utilizing the ICE™ framework allows long term goals to be tackled one step at a time. ICE™ supports an evolutionary development process. Data sources pertaining to one particular business need can be integrated into the centralized data repository and related reports and task-level applications developed.

Many important business relationships, such as those pertaining to organization structures and responsibilities, can be addressed in phase one. This provides a scalable foundation for adding additional data to address other task areas.

The application can be enhanced in phases, with each phase representing a cohesive set of task-level applications. The flexibility inherent in the ICE™ framework allows new requirements arising as the application is expanded to be incorporated with confidence.
