Using the ICE approach involves configuring the environment rather than developing from scratch. Presentation macros, attributes, business rules, and meta data are set up to implement a particular system versus writing code. The implementation process involves installing the system and creating an initial working model over the period of a few days. The working model provides a real example, helping the client to better visualize the requirements. An iterative development process is used, based on additional requirements and feedback on the working model. The system includes a branded, dynamic web site with advanced merchandising features, management of payment transactions, order management, customer service, interactive reporting, and integration to numerous other systems including back office administration.
